What I'm trying to say is, in a C5 WH system, with 1 day cycles, with 8 to 10 extractor heads, I can keep 8 P1 factories running ~95% of the time. The largest cost of PI is the RL research you'll spend on figuring it out :PĪn extractor planet is a planet with 1-4 extractors and 1-3 basic factories per extractor. There's a PDF I can link you that illustrates the process: įeel free to send any other question you have or ask for clarification. My industrial planet for Nanite paste takes reactive metals + bacteria and makes nanites, then 4 P1 convert into gel biopaste, and 3 P1 get converted into Data chips. The p1 gets turned into P2, and then the P2 gets turned into P3. You round up all the P1 from the extractor planets and drop them into launchpads on the industrial planet. Industrial planets are planets without extractors. An example is an oceanic planet I have that harvests aqueous liquids and planktic colonies and then converts them into water and whatever planktic colonies are turned into. It extracts the P0 (raw material) and then converts it into P1 (basic refined material). To elaborate a bit more, in PI you'll have 2 different kinds of planets, 'extractor planets' and 'industrial planets.' An extractor planet is a planet with 1-4 extractors and 1-3 basic factories per extractor. Your industry planet probably won't need to change though, so once you establish an industrial planet in a wh system that probably won't need to change. Switching from one product to another, like robotics to nanite paste is often nearly the same as totally starting fresh, except that you might not need to drop new command centers. You lose a good chunk of the profits, but it lowers the amount of skills you need to make the big items. Importing a few items can actually be quite efficient. The planets you want to build on depend on what you want to make and if you're willing to purchase some goods form the market to import. You do not need higher skills in order to mine a wh planet over a HS one: the only difference between the two is that the wh planets will give more p0 per cycle (6-7 times more at the hotspots). I do have to import one item for the process however, which costs 600k per day, and I pay 8% taxes to my corp via the customs offices. I make around 14mil per day gross from making nanite paste, and it's also something that I use myself which is quite convenient. It's very light on SP reqs (with only 250k SP if you max every category), and is also light on buy-in (only like 3mil per planet you set up on with minimal upkeep). I've jsut given some PI advice, lemme edit it in:
